UAE And US Form Standing AI Task Force In Abu Dhabi

The permanent team brings AI, data and cybersecurity specialists into a shared operational structure focused on intelligence support and critical infrastructure.

The UAE and the United States have launched Task Force Talon Synapse, an Abu Dhabi-based bilateral team bringing together about 20 Emirati and American specialists in artificial intelligence, data and cybersecurity. The task force is intended to support intelligence, critical-infrastructure protection and regional security monitoring.

The launch follows an agreement announced by US Central Command on 28 July and builds on earlier UAE-US experiments using unmanned vessels, sensors and AI to classify maritime data. The report said the standing unit extends that work into a permanent bilateral structure, although Central Command has not detailed the systems it will develop or deploy.
