UAE Cyber Council and Meta Open Wearables Studio for AI Builders
The programme brings a global hardware supplier into a government-backed pathway for UAE developers, startups and students building privacy-conscious AI experiences.
Meta, the UAE Cyber Security Council and Startupbootcamp have launched Wearables Studio UAE, a programme for students, developers, entrepreneurs and startups building AI-powered experiences for wearable technologies. Announced at GISEC Global 2026 in Dubai, the initiative combines technical training, mentorship, public ideation sessions and an in-person build sprint.
The Cyber Security Council is the national partner, with Startupbootcamp managing outreach, selection, workshops, mentoring and the final showcase. Applications cover tourism and cultural heritage, healthcare, education, Arabic AI companions and smart retail, while the top three teams will share a $10,000 prize pool.
Dr Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cyber Security for the UAE Government, said the initiative would give participants an environment for developing practical applications with security, privacy and user trust built in from the outset. The programme will culminate in a pitchathon and final showcase at GITEX Global 2026.
