Abu Dhabi Says Its Government Will Run on AI First, and Puts $3.54 Billion Behind the Claim
More than 100 AI use cases are now live across Abu Dhabi's public services, and officials are using a sold-out October summit to argue that the emirate will be the world's first AI-native government by 2027.
Abu Dhabi will host Ai Everything Abu Dhabi, a sold-out expo and summit, at the ADNEC Centre on 6 and 7 October, with more than 50 UAE government entities taking part and the Department of Government Enablement as host partner. The department says it has already integrated more than 40 government entities into a single AI-driven ecosystem, with more than 100 AI use cases live across the emirate's public services, backed by an investment programme of 3.54 billion dollars.
The programme is presented as the operational face of a wider bid to make Abu Dhabi the world's first AI-native government by 2027. Wesam Lootah, director general of GovDigital at the Department of Government Enablement, said Abu Dhabi would reach that milestone next year and that the evidence was already visible in the way public services were being redesigned for millions of people and businesses.
The summit is designed to connect that government demand with private capital. Organisers expect more than 400 AI infrastructure builders, model makers, unicorns and startups, and more than 200 investors representing 91 billion dollars in assets under management, alongside delegates from more than 60 countries. More than 180 speakers are scheduled, including Arthur Mensch, co-founder and chief executive of Mistral AI, and Marc Raibert, founder of Boston Dynamics. The event will also showcase AI applications across banking, healthcare, energy and education.
