Mubadala Draws US AI Cloud Together AI to Abu Dhabi in Sovereign Infrastructure Deal

Together AI will open a local presence in Abu Dhabi and move its inference and research work closer to Gulf developers, converting a sovereign equity position into an operating footprint in the emirate.

Mubadala Investment Company, the Abu Dhabi sovereign investor, and Together AI, the AI cloud for building and running generative artificial intelligence with open-source models, announced a strategic partnership on Tuesday to explore AI infrastructure and ecosystem opportunities in the United Arab Emirates. Under the agreement, Together AI will establish a local presence in Abu Dhabi, bringing its inference and research capabilities closer to regional demand and to the developers building AI applications across the Emirates and the wider region.

The two organisations said they would work together to identify strategic opportunities that support the development and deployment of artificial intelligence in the country. The collaboration between Mubadala's UAE Investments Platform and Together AI follows the sovereign investor's $100 million participation in Together AI's Series C financing round, announced on 1 July 2026 alongside a group of global technology and financial investors.

Mubadala presented the partnership as part of the emirate's broader effort to build sovereign capabilities across the AI value chain, strengthen Abu Dhabi's position as an international hub for applied innovation and deepen technical expertise in the country. The tie-up forms part of the sovereign investor's continued commitment to the technology infrastructure underpinning the UAE's transition to a knowledge-based economy, and its focus on artificial intelligence as a long-term driver of economic value.

UAE Ministry of Justice Deploys Five AI Agents to Cut Case File Review to Hours

The UAE Ministry of Justice has put a suite of specialised artificial intelligence agents to work inside the judicial process, saying the deployment has reduced the time needed to review case files from several days to a few hours while preserving full judicial oversight. The ministry showcased the system as part of its participation in the 15th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, hosted by the UAE at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi until 1 October 2026.

The ministry's solution comprises five agents: the Case File Review Assistant, Case Analysis Assistant, Legal Research Assistant, Decision Support Assistant and Judgment Drafting Assistant. They operate in a coordinated sequence, with the Case File Review Assistant classifying digital case documents, the Case Analysis Assistant linking facts and evidence, the Legal Research Assistant compiling legislation and precedent, and the Judgment Drafting Assistant preparing a non-binding preliminary draft that remains subject to a judge's review, amendment and approval. Five of the seven stages in the review process are supported by the agents, while the remaining two stay exclusively with judges.

Abu Dhabi Judicial Department Opens First Phase of Its Judicial AI Platform

The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department has launched the first phase of its Judicial AI Platform in cooperation with the Department of Government Enablement, describing it as the first integrated system of its kind globally to use artificial intelligence to support judicial and legal decision-making under full human oversight and verification. The launch is the opening step of an 18-month roadmap to complete the platform and extend it across judicial workflows.

The first phase introduces Judicial Assistant, which supports judicial authority members in the Public Prosecution and criminal courts in analysing specific types of cases, recommending decisions and drafting judgments with references to legislation and judicial precedents. The department said the final decision remains with the judicial authority member and that AI recommendations are not binding and do not affect the independence of judicial decision-making. Later phases will integrate the platform with criminal, civil and other departmental systems and add real-time translation, automated hearing records and tools to detect forged documents.

Abu Dhabi's Shorooq and Presight Take Gulf Capital Into Silicon Valley Robotics

Shorooq, the regional multi-strategy investment firm, and Presight, the Abu Dhabi-listed applied AI company and a G42 company, have invested in Maven Robotics as part of the industrial robotics developer's $100 million Series A round. The investment was made through the Presight-Shorooq AI and Bedaya funds managed by Shorooq, alongside RoboStrategy, LocalGlobe, Vine Ventures and XTX Ventures.

Maven, founded in 2024 and headquartered in Santa Clara, California, designs, builds and deploys intelligent robots for logistics and manufacturing. It began with mixed-case palletizing and tote handling, workflows it estimates represent an $80 billion addressable market, and its machines already run up to sixteen hours a day at customer sites with reliability above 99 per cent. The new capital will fund the build-out of a third-generation fleet of 250 machines and the design of a fourth generation. Bilal Baloch, a partner at Shorooq, said the first wave of AI reshaped how the world works with information, and that the next would reshape how the physical economy runs.

UAE Commits to Training One Million Lebanese in Generative AI Skills

The United Arab Emirates and Lebanon have launched the One Million Lebanese AI Experts initiative under the Government Experience Exchange Programme, in cooperation with the Government of Lebanon. The announcement was made during a meeting in New York between Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Dr Nawaf Salam, Prime Minister of the Lebanese Republic, on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The initiative aims to equip one million Lebanese people with fundamental and practical skills in generative artificial intelligence and prompt engineering, including how to formulate instructions and guide AI tools to produce accurate and effective results. It is designed to reach all segments of Lebanese society across ages, backgrounds and roles, broadening the beneficiary base and building readiness for digital transformation. The programme sits within the Government Experience Exchange Programme's work to share UAE expertise and build practical partnerships supporting institutional and human capability in partner governments.
