Dubai Opens Agentic AI Accelerator to 33 Government Entities

The emirate is moving from studying autonomous systems to buying them, pairing dozens of public bodies with certified AI firms and putting more than 300 live service cases in front of them.

Dubai has opened an accelerator that will pair 33 government entities with certified artificial intelligence companies to build agentic services, as the emirate pushes to redesign public services around autonomous systems. The Agentic AI for Government Services Accelerator was announced by the Dubai Future Foundation under its Dubai Future Accelerators initiative and is organised by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence in collaboration with Digital Dubai and the Dubai Electronic Security Centre.

In its first phase the programme will assess more than 300 public-facing use cases across the 33 entities to identify those with the greatest potential for development using agentic AI, which can break a goal into smaller tasks, correct itself in real time and carry processes over hours or days without constant supervision. Participating entities will work alongside technology companies certified under the Dubai AI Seal, the recognition scheme run by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence to identify trusted AI firms operating in the emirate. The accelerator adopts the operating model of Dubai Future Accelerators, with an emphasis on shortening the design, development and deployment cycle for government services.

Khalfan Belhoul, chief executive of the Dubai Future Foundation, said the launch followed directives from Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the foundation, to position Dubai as the world's leading city in the adoption of agentic AI across government services. Hamad Al Mansoori, Director General of Digital Dubai, said the programme marked a shift from responding to residents' needs to anticipating them, and Yousuf Al Shaibani, chief executive of the Dubai Electronic Security Centre, said cybersecurity had to be embedded at every stage of adoption, from planning and design through to operation and monitoring.

UAE Funds in Talks to Anchor $30 Billion OpenAI Round

Investment funds in the United Arab Emirates, including Abu Dhabi's MGX, are in talks to anchor a $30 billion financing round for OpenAI, according to people familiar with the matter. The funds would invest as a syndicate and have discussed putting in as much as $10 billion between them, while BlackRock is also in discussions to take part alongside them. Bloomberg reported the talks on Monday.

OpenAI is seeking at least $30 billion at a pre-money valuation of about $1.4 trillion and has pushed back plans for an initial public offering until at least next year, citing a focus on AI safety. MGX has taken part in previous OpenAI and Anthropic funding rounds and raised close to $50 billion earlier in 2026 to accelerate spending on AI infrastructure and technology. The fundraise is ongoing and the terms could still change.

Abu Dhabi AI Council Reviews UAE-US Campus and AI-Native Government

Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technology Council, chaired a meeting of the council on 6 October in the presence of Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Vice-Chairman of the council. The council reviewed progress across priorities supporting Abu Dhabi's artificial intelligence and advanced technology ecosystem, including the UAE-US AI Campus in Abu Dhabi, the advancement of AI research, specialised talent and open AI models, and the Abu Dhabi Government's progress towards becoming what it describes as the world's first fully AI-native government by 2027.

Sheikh Tahnoon said the emirate's ambition extends beyond adopting artificial intelligence to developing its technologies and shaping the economy built around them, and emphasised directing investment, research and international partnerships towards building a lasting scientific and technological base in Abu Dhabi. The council is the emirate's supreme authority for artificial intelligence and advanced technology projects, investments and research, responsible for setting related policies, strategies, frameworks and investment priorities.

UAE Cyber Security Council and SCC Middle East to Build Resilience Centre

The UAE Cyber Security Council and SCC Middle East will develop a Centre of Excellence for Cyber Resilience and Trusted Technology, announced during Ai Everything Abu Dhabi. The centre is intended to give government, enterprises, technology partners and specialists an environment in which to explore emerging technologies, test real use cases and assess how new solutions can be adopted securely and at scale.

The initiative follows three phases: building national capability through executive learning, practical labs and specialist development across AI, cloud, data, cybersecurity and critical national infrastructure; incubating locally developed cyber innovation through a startup programme that tests and validates technologies against real-world requirements; and connecting selected UAE-developed technologies with international customers and commercial opportunities. Dr Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cyber Security for the UAE Government, said the centre would create an environment in which government, industry and technology partners can turn national ambition into practical capability.

Awqaf Abu Dhabi Debuts Photoreal AI Agent in 150 Languages

Awqaf Abu Dhabi, the Endowments and Minors' Funds Management Authority, has unveiled its first photoreal artificial intelligence agent, built as a single point of contact for its services. The agent lets users engage by voice or text in any of 150 languages, including Arabic and English, and offers personalised guidance towards the right service or next step. It was presented at Ai Everything Abu Dhabi, where visitors can use it at the authority's stand.

Fahad Abdulqader Al Qassim, Director General of the authority, said the launch aligned with the UAE's National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031 and described artificial intelligence as a strategic enabler for reinventing the endowment sector through greater transparency, operational efficiency and data-driven governance. The authority is also showing smart systems for managing endowment assets, financial flows and beneficiary data, alongside analytical dashboards that provide real-time insight into portfolio performance and social impact.
