Abu Dhabi Rolls Out Microsoft Copilot to 35,000 Government Workers

The deployment gives enterprise AI vendors a sovereign government adoption benchmark as Abu Dhabi works toward becoming an AI-native government by 2027.

Abu Dhabi Government has standardised Microsoft 365 Copilot as the AI productivity platform for its public sector, extending the Frontier Employee Programme to 35,000 government employees across 27 entities.

The Department of Government Enablement said 26,000 civil servants have recently received Copilot access, building on 9,000 existing licences. The rollout places generative AI inside daily government tools and is supported by training, certification, change management, security, data governance and readiness assessments.

The programme uses Advanced Data Residency so AI processing takes place within the UAE. It also sits alongside an AI Factory capability being established across government, with a target of hundreds of use cases and more than 1,000 agents for public-sector functions including document processing, constituent query handling and policy analysis.

SME Adoption

Abu Dhabi Chamber and Presight Set Agentic AI Channel for 102,000 SMEs

The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Presight, a G42 company, to scale agentic AI adoption across more than 102,000 registered small and medium-sized enterprises in the emirate.

The initiative is being piloted with an initial cohort before a broader deployment. The Chamber said registered SMEs will receive preferential-rate access to Presight's sovereign AI systems, which are intended to support procurement decisions, compliance workflows, logistics systems and other day-to-day business operations.

MGX Partners Advance France AI Campus Toward 3-Gigawatt Compute Network

MGX, Bpifrance and Mistral have announced the planned expansion of Campus AI in France, with a target of developing up to 3 gigawatts of compute capacity nationwide through a second site beyond the flagship Fouju campus in Seine-et-Marne.

The joint venture brings together Bpifrance, Mistral, MGX and NVIDIA, and its expansion was announced at the Choose France Summit in the presence of French President Emmanuel Macron and Khaldoon Al Mubarak, Secretary General of Abu Dhabi's Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technology Council. Campus AI is intended to provide scaled compute access for Mistral and support a wider European network of AI factories.
