The Abu Dhabi investment platform has exceeded its original fundraising target as sovereign-linked capital continues to move across the global AI stack.

Abu Dhabi-based MGX has raised $49 billion for Fund I, exceeding its initial $45 billion target after drawing institutional and private investors from the Gulf, North America, Asia and Europe.

The firm said the fund was launched to give investors exposure to opportunities across semiconductors, AI infrastructure and AI-enabled technologies. Since inception, MGX has invested in 14 companies, including businesses across semiconductors, infrastructure and platforms.

Zawya reported that MGX, backed by Mubadala Investment Company and G42, is targeting more than $100 billion in assets across the AI technology stack and has invested in global AI companies including xAI, OpenAI and Anthropic.
