Stargate UAE: First 200 Megawatts to Come Online This Year

The five-gigawatt campus of G42 and its American partners, the largest AI works outside the United States, enters its build-out across ten square miles of Abu Dhabi.

Following the launch of the UAE–US AI Acceleration Partnership, Stargate UAE has entered its build-out phase, with the first 200 megawatts under development and scheduled to come online this year.

The campus is developed by G42 with OpenAI, Oracle, NVIDIA, Cisco and SoftBank, and comprises a one-gigawatt data centre in its first works. The undertaking accompanies a commitment of $440 billion in future American energy investments, binding AI infrastructure to power generation for a generation to come.

Microsoft Pledges $15.2 Billion to the Emirates Through 2029

The Redmond concern will spend more than $7.9 billion in the UAE from 2026 through 2029, atop $7.3 billion already invested, including its $1.5 billion stake in G42.

The nation now leads the world in the use of generative AI per capita (59.4 per cent of the population), ahead of Singapore in second place.
